Eric Juhola is a filmmaker, producer, executive producer, and educator working across documentary film and media art. His recent installation, THE DINNER TABLE, a dual-projection video work exploring family ritual, memory, and the emotional weight of gathering, is currently on view at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia from March 6, 2026 through August 2027.

Eric is currently executive producing CUT TO DAVID, a longitudinal documentary about a filmmaker’s journey to understand her adopted son’s transgender identity, supported by The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM).

His previous work includes the Netflix feature documentary GROWING UP COY, a poignant exploration of a six-year-old’s civil rights case that received international recognition and awards. He also produced OFF THE GRID: LIFE ON THE MESA, which earned a Gotham award nomination and multiple festival accolades, and BROKEN HEART LAND, an ITVS-supported documentary that aired nationally on PBS’s America ReFramed.

Earlier in his career, Eric directed the fiction film NOWHERE KIDS, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. He began his career working with Barbara Walters at ABC before producing and directing programming for Discovery Channel, HGTV, TLC, TruTV, WEtv, and MTV.

His work has been featured at film festivals includingTribeca, Frameline, Raindance, and Mix Brasil, and covered by outlets such as The New York Times, The Guardian, OUT, and Variety.

Eric teaches visual storytelling at NYU’s Open Arts program at the Tisch School of the Arts and recently completed an MFA in Integrated Media Arts at Hunter College.
