THE STORY: A maternity nurse haunted by her past searches for her daughter who has joined a faction of anarchist teens in the New Mexico desert.
THE INSPIRATION: "Land of Enchantment" is inspired by the award winning documentary "Off the Grid: Life on the Mesa", directed by Jeremy & Randy Stulberg and Produced by Eric Juhola. Getting to know the characters in that film and their experiences with love, loss, and hardship in the middle of the New Mexico desert was a profound experience and we couldn’t help wanting to explore their stories further.
THE SHORT FILM: "Nowhere Kids" is a short fiction film that explores characters and contains scenes from the feature film screenplay. The film The film features Eléonore Hendricks (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, The Pleasure of Being Robbed) along with a hardscrabble cast of real-life street kids who have been train hopping around the country and living on the streets.
